Tenuta Cucco

The context of Barolo wine is a market characterized by the presence of famous brands and personalities and a very traditional language. Tenuta Cucco in Serralunga d’Alba – which has been a part of Tenute Rossi Cairo since January 2015 – has taken an important new path towards organic wine production. The new identity emphasizes the distinctive brand characteristics, using an extremely elegant language and style that perfectly integrates with the reference market.

The project began with the study of the brand positioning, brand architecture and the name – which transformed from Cascina Cucco to the more impressive and aspirational ‘Tenuta Cucco’ – and arrived at the restyling of the brand and image of the products. The design was directly inspired by the terroir. The brand is inspired by the tower of the Serralunga Castle, which both represents the geographical prominence and outstanding quality of the winery.

The label design was inspired by the frescos found in the 17th century church of San Sebastiano nel Borgo, which is owned by Tenuta Cucco. Figures of saints, aristocrats, and dancing cherubs therefore became the subjects of the labels representing an aspect of the marvelous country of Italy around the globe.
