Robilant Associati is behind the design of the new ITA Airways “hangar lounge” at Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci airport.

A place capable of conveying the founding values of the ITA Airways brand from the very first impact, outlining a new airport lounge concept by celebrating the world of aviation.

The new ITA Airways Hangar Lounge is configured as an inter-space, representing the highest expression of all-round excellence Made in Italy.
From food to beverage, from fashion to design, from courtesy to fine living, the lounge becomes a messenger and showroom of the finest in Italian luxury living:

A unique place, dedicated to travellers seeking more than just a moment of relaxation and refreshment.

The pleasure of travelling begins the minute you enter the lounge.

The metaphor of the fuselage is expressed with a row of comfortable seats upholstered in dark blue leather, recreating an arrangement with a “premium class” feel.
The special conformation of the seat, the table and the light in the shape of the aircraft window recreate the pleasure of flight in all its comfort and privacy.

The central space is dominated by a large tapered counter that serves as an open bar, with a silhouette reminiscent of the livery of one of the company's aircraft.

Underneath a striking luminous fuselage, the counter becomes a focal point with which to celebrate the various moments of the day.

The setting is completed by a visual installation consisting of 72 ITA blue cloches, each featuring a video of all the company's destinations.

An element of wonder, the sky, is recreated with precious mosaics, enhancing every detail and every component of a “journey through the clouds”.
